Sports seminar The Midland Recreation Department will host a seminar on Effective Sport Marketing to be held Satur- day, November 5, 1988 at the Midland Civic Centre. The Sport Marketing In- stitute is anew and unique program which covers the components of sport marketing, effective management, fundraising, public relations and spon- sorships. The management of sport organizations, from the local club and school to National Federa- tions is changing dramatically. New strategies to meet new needs are required. The Sport Marketing Institute provides the answer to the needs of raising funds and marketing amateur sport. I highly recommend that every sport organization, administrator, manager and coach avail themselves to the Sport Marketing In- stitute material and use it to develop sport," as stated by James Worrall, O.C., Q.C., International Olym- pic Committee. The Sport Marketing program was developed and completed by Mr. David Wilkinson, Presi- dent and founder of the Sport Marketing Institute Company. Mr. Wilkinson has spent more than 16 years working in the field of amateur sport. His knowledge and concepts of sport management and marketing have proven to be invaluable. He has aid- ed many agencies and organizations in fundrais- ing and organizational development.
