Ree ee se a FF Oe ee Pg ee a Answers from match committee Earlier this year the Match Com- mittee under the leadership of Rita Sharpen was asked to respond to numerous questions and comments resulting from our club question- naire. Here are her comittee's answers: SCHEDULING AND ORGANIZA- TION OF TUESDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT SCHEDULE. The Match Committee would like members to know that there is a committee established for each night of curling. They are headed by the following people: Monday (Men's House League) - to be announced; Tuesday (Ladies') - Francie Dupuis, Karen Lotton; Thursday (Men's Competitive) - Marc Brunelle; Friday (Mixed) - Rita Sharpen. Each of these committees will establish schedules as fairly as possible and are aiming to have schedules available at least one week. prior to the start of any new schedule. COMMENTS REGARDING 8:50 STOP RULE It was decided that in fairness to all curlers, scheduled curling will begin. daily at 6:50 p.m. and that no new ends will begin past 8:50 p.m. BOOKING ICE TIME It was agreed that members should book prior ice time with the Manager or his delegate for a special game. Otherwise members should check at bar and make sure an ice is not about to be used before using it for practice. 7 p.m. CURLING IMPORTANT TO LADIES We will continue to guarantee ladies' night start times, should there be only one draw. CONCERNS ABOUT THE NUMBER OF TEAMS AND BYES IN THURSDAY NIGHT MEN'S CURLING The men's section will accept all teams registered on time and will overflow to another night if necessary. (Report was prepared by Rita Sharpen and the members of the Match Committee.) Industrial League News The Penetanguishene Curling Club's Industrial League is looking for teams to fill its Wednesday evening schedule. Last winter there were about 12 teams competing in the pay-as-you-play section, and it's hoped that will be doubled this time around. No experience is necessary to join in. That's the best part, you learn as you play. The emphasis is on fun! Teams representing various businesses, industries and hospitals all take part. You can join as an office rink, or just put your name in and league Officials will put you on a team. The cost is $5 a game, which covers the cost of the ice rental, a jolly Christmas party and an end of the year bash. If you are interested in putting in a team from your factory, bank, of- fice, store, etc., call Marg Duval at 549-7010. For those players from last year, Marg would like to hear from you, to make sure you don't miss out on the fun this season.
