Barrie Fine Cars AUTHORIZED DEALER OF MERCEDES-BENZ 290 Yonge St., Barrie (705) 728-1883 20 min. north of Newmarket Make sure lights are well adjusted Like most motorists, you have probably been dazzled by bright headlights from an oncoming vehi- cle. This is usually because one of the two lights is stronger than the other, the "dims" aren't dim enough or the light beams are maladjusted and shine directly in the eyes of on-coming drivers. But how do you know if you're not guilty of this yourself? A trip to a service station with a special chart can verify whether or not your lights are adequately ad- justed. If not, the angle or lumino- sity can be corrected in a few minutes. In the same vein, it is recom- mended that you get in the habit of regularly cleaning your headlights, especially in winter, when they are most always on. After all, the greater the odds of being seen, the lower the risk of being in an accident. Dealership expands Doug Sagan and his partner George Woods set up the Used Car Factory in January 1987. But in fewer than two years, it has already begun to outgrow its name. Besides a good range of us- ed cars offering value for the discerning buyer -- currently there are 35 different models available -- there are two other strings to the "factory's" bow: boats and Bom- bardier Skidoos. The boating séason is at its end but the skidoos, which Sagan says are due to be on sale in October, are an exciting new departure. "We will be carrying a dozen dif- ferent lines," says Sagan, "as well as providing full parts and servic- ing facilities.'" For snowmobiling enthusiasts, that means a whole new ball game in the Huronia area sales to skidoos -- new but backed by the solid reputation the business already en- joys among motorists and sailors alike. And there is more: as of Oct. 1, the Used Car Factory will be carry- ing a complete range of General Tire products. It will be the first General dealership in Midland and it's a sign of just how far the Barrie-based firm has been revitalized in recent years. General is now a major force in the retail tire market. After years of hiding its light under a bushel and supplying tires that other com- panies put their names upon, General is advertising widely and emphasising the quality and perfor- mance of its products.
