Waldie and daughter, Miss Mae Waldie of Chicago, are spending 'their holidays at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Waldie, 291 Erie Street. These bright young pupils of Mrs. _ G. Hendy Bishop passed with honors - the T. C. M. introductory pianoforte examinations: Margaret Evans, Stratford. Isobel Young, Brooksdale. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Street and son (Russell motored from St. 'Thomas Sunday, They were accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Robinson, who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vanstone, 181 Cobourg street, where the spent a - pleasant day. Violet Dodd, the six year old daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Dodd, Dou- ro street, city, received word from the Toronto Conservatory of Music that she has passed with honors in the Introductory Piano examination held recently in the city. Violet is to be congratulated on her standing, as she was the youngest pupil trying here. Much credit is due her teacher, Miss Violet Ramsden, Well street. BEAN--WILHELM A pretty July wedding took place at the parsonage of Central United Church this Wednesday afternoon, ai 1.36 o'clock, when Martha Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Wilhelm, 57 James street, became the bride of Howard Leslie Bean, North Cobalt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Bean, New Hamburg. Rev. W. E. Donnelly, pastor of the church, per- formed the ceremony. The bride was prettily gowned in lavender geor- gette trimmed with old lace and sil- ver ribbons, and wore a large picture hat. Her flowers were Butterfly ros- es. Miss Erma Haist of Kitchener at- tended the bride, wearing a dress of peach colored crepe and a large leg- horn hat. She carried pink carna- tions. Harvey Wilhelm, brother of fhe bride, was best man. Following the ceremony a reception and wedding breakfast was held at the home of the bride's parents, the rooms being attractively arranged in pink and white with seasonable flowers used as decorations. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a handsome leather suitcase, to the bridesmaid a gold har pin and to the best man, gold cuff links. Later Mr. and Mrs. Bean left for a trip down the St. Lawrence and up the Saguenay. The bride traveled in a dress of black flatte crepe with hat to match, and a sable fur.
