THE MIRROR FINE STRATFORD LADY CELEBRATES 80th BIRTHDAY - The home of Mrs. E. Collison pre- sented a most picturesque sight the other day. A dear old lady--sons and daughiers, friends and beautiful flowers, where things have made the scene, one that will not be soon for- gotten. The occasion was the 80th birthday of Mrs. Collison. The mem- bers of the family present were Mrs. Frank Kastner, Mrs. Delamatyre, Miss Lovina Collison and Mr. Thos. Collison, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. John Collison, London, Dr. and Mrs. W. G. Collison of Lindsay as well as a large circle of friends, attended the birth- day dinner. It was truly a _ happy time for Mrs. Collinson and all pres- ent. Those who know this charming old lady wish her many years of health and happiness. BIGGER AND BETTER CARS Bigger and better cars seem to be the order of the day. Our attention was drawn the other day to the fact of how few of the lower priced cars were parked on Ontario street now in comparison to that of a few years ago. Big cars cost more money to buy and more to run in comparison to the smaller makes, but to the owner who can afford this extra there is truly an added pleasure in owning a big car. A lot of people, however, have to be satisfied to be without even a small car. Well it isn't pos- sessions that make people happy. There is many a wealthy man who would give his carfor for the poor man's qualifications of enjoying a good meal, and good digestion often comes because we are compelled to walk. YOUNG STRATFORD VOCALIST GREATLY APPRECIATED Those who attended the Erie street Lutheran Church Sunday evening were delighted with the singing of Wilhemina Pauli, the talented young daughter of Mr.and Mrs, Fred Pauli, who are also members of the choir. Wilhemina's voice is considered one of the best in the city, and is a great acquisition to the choir. The music rendered py this organization every Sunday reflects great credit on the capable leadership of Mr. J. A. Forbes, as well as the choir members. Stratford people and art lovers are privileged in having an opportunity of seeing the art exhibit of Mr. Geo. Chavignaud at the Queen's' Hotel. This outstanding Canadian artist, dur- ing his visit in the city has given sev- eral instructive and interesting talks on art, having addressed the students of the Normal Schoo] and the art stu- dents of the Collegiate Institute. Mr. Chavignaud has a graciousness of manner and geniality that makes ita pleasure for one to meet the artist as well as see his work. He expects to be in the city for some days. Any- -one having a little time to spare will be well repaid by seeing these beau- tiful pictures, and meeting this cele- brated painter. en -- --~----~-- -- ' SPECIALS FOR THE WEEK-END oe} ne a a aa tO Nt SO Men's: Work Trousers, special. 08 i oie $1.85 Men's Work Shirts, blue, khaki ............ 2 for $1.59 Mt Men's Balbriggan Combinations ...........+2+-+00- 95c¢ Men's Athletic Combinations, extra value ........... 95¢ Men's Crepe Neckwear, very special ........ 95c, 2 for 96c | Men's Work Sox, all shades ........ aio urns 4 tor $1.00 Men's all wool Coat Sweaters ........ cece sees: . $2.45 i Boys' Flannel Trousers). .) 04606 0.60.6 eee aie ees $1.39 Boys Khaki Trousers... 604s aussie - OE 19 eae $1.15 Boys' Wake Sairie soi ee tee a BSE ae Be is." 75¢ Boys' all wool Jerseys .......
