THE M LRROR 0 2 Coming Musical Events For the second time that progres: sive organization, the Perth County Music Teachers' Federation, is to holds its annual convention. This time it is to_be held in the beautiful new Y. W. C. A. building, and a num- ber of out-of-town delegates are ex- pected for November 9, 10 and 11. On the first evening, a recital by Salvi, the world-famous harpist, will be held in St. John's United Church, after which a reception for Signor Salvi will be held in the Y. W. C. A. Sessions of interest to music teach- ers, Many of them led by out-of-town members of the Federation, will oc- cupy Thursday and Friday. On Thursday evening a recital is being arranged by gold and silver medallists of the Canadian National Exhibition, which will be open to the public. (This project has not yet been completed, but it is the hope of the committee that it will materialize). On Friday evening the guests of honor at the banquet will] be Dr. firnest MacMillan, Principal of To- ronto Conservatory of Music: Mr. George Ziegler, Principal of the Kit- chener Conservatory of Music; and Capt. J. S. Atkinson, Director of the Canadian Bureau for the Advance- ment of Music. Dr. MacMillan has very kindly consented to address the teachers after the banquet, and the affair is being anticipated with the keenest interest by music teachers all over the county. Local Interest We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. K. J. Dunstan, vice-president of the Bell Telephone Co. in Toronto the other day, and reminded him of the good service and courtesy of the staff here. Mr. Dunstan has the qualities of all successful men and one of these is the capacity for hard work. He is a very cultured gentleman and of very quiet and unassuming demeanor. He addressed the Chamber of Com- merce here on one occasion, and in spite of the fact that he is one of the busiest men in Canada the Board of Trade could probably persuade him to give another of his interest- ing talks some time this winter. The office of Duncan Ferguson Co., Limited, is now located in the Gordon Block, room 1. This office has been opened for the purpose of collecting accounts, and winding up the busi- ness of the firm.
