Women of Europe | Lured By Politics Turn, in Increasing Numbers, From Their Hearths to Public Office _ LONDON, March 19.--Throughout Europe women are turning their eyes from their hearths to the po- litical arena, some with hope, some ~vith determination and a not incon- siderable number with actual dis- taste. Even Asia has begun to open its political gates to wives and moth- ers. The house of representatives in Tokio has passed a_ bill grant- ing women equal franchise rights with men in elections for city, town and village autonomous assemblies. The women of England and Ger- many have secured a far firmer position in politics than most of their sisters in neighboring lands. ull Franchise Seen. Turkish women, though only lib- erated from their harems during the past decade, are already on their way to parliament. They made their pdlitical debut this year when the Kemalist government granted them the municipal vote, and those it well during next November's general elections he will give them the full franchise and the right to sit i parliament.
