GRAD TOPS 39c JANTZEN BATHING SUITS $3.95 AH Roads Lead THE STRATFORD MIRROR To Stratford This city will be the most important place on earth (to Stratfordites) for a brief spell this summer. The usual or- der of things will be reversed. Most summers, the roads all start here and min up hill and down dale to every- where. This "Centennial" year they all end at the corner of Erie and On- tario Streets--Stratford. The Old Boys are coming! As a matter of fact, some of them have arrived. But the thought of them com- ing brings up the matter of Guest Rooms. It doesn't seem quite reasonable that, as is often the case, the best bedroom in the house should be chosen for the "spare" room, Surely it is more im- portant that you or your children, who will occupy it all year long, should have the benefit of that health-giving bay window, that extra-efficient radia- tor or that lovely view, than that they should be wasted weeks without num- ber for the sake of the occasional vis- itor. But, on the other hand, hospitality demands that you make your. guest comfortable, and there are a hundred ways in which you can do it besides that one way of giving up the best room, : Don't make you rguest room a har- bor for the derelicts from your family belongings--the uncomfortable chairs, the inartistic hangings, the ugly pic- tures and the out-of-date calendars. A comfortable bed is doubtless the most important of all in the equipment of a guest room. Sleep in it occasional- ly yourself to make sure that it is comfortable, that the springs haven't sagged or the mattress gone lumpy since you last put it to the test. Sum- mer cottages are particularly apt to eause suffering through uncomfort- able beds. Plenty of space in bureau and ward- robe will be appreciated by any guest, In these days of dainty cakes of soap --attractive powder puffs for a single using, and scores of other up-to-date devices, a guest room may easily be a marvel of complete equipment. A book or two, a new magazine, a paper, pencils, ink, fresh drinking water and a vase of flowers all will add to the comfort and pleasure of the guest. Pins, needles and a spool of thread may be placed in a little bas- ket to be used if needed in a hurry, as such things often are. PETER & SYLVESTER | Will do your Repairs in _ Charles T.
