STURGEON FALLS GIRL IS DROWNED Body of Miss Annette March- ildon Is Recovered From. Lake Nipissing STURGEON FALLS, Ont., Aug. 17 (CP)--The body of Annette, 18- year-old daughter of Major 7 Ug aa Marchildon, was recovered to-day from Lake Nipissing. The girl was drowned last night when the skiff in which she was rowing capsized in a storm. : Miss Marchildon was rowing in the skiff with Miss Germaine Prieur, Paul Charbonneau and Louis Levesque, all of Sturgeon Falls. A squall swept down on the lit- tle craft and all four occupants were cast into the water. In the pitch darkness of the night Miss Marchildon was~lost as the other three made their way to shore Her body was washed onto the beach to-day. The dead girl and Miss Prieur left their homes yesterday to spend a vacation at Major Marchildon's summer camp at Champlain Park near here. The funeral will be held Friday morning and burial will be made at the Catholic cemetery here. Two brothers and the parents sur- vive. NATIVE OF WOODSTOCK ~ SUCCUMBS IN WINDSOR Mrs. John A. McKay Had Been An Invalid For Number of Years WINDSOR, Ont., Aug. 17--(CP) --Death today claimed Mrs. Mar- garet Rose McKay, wife of John A. McKay, who for 28 years was publisher of the Windsor Record. _ Mrs. McKay had been ill for 16 years, most of the time practically an invalid. Born in Woodstock daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs, John Brotchie, she was married in 1890 to John McKay, who was then on the staff of the Woodstock Sen- tinel-Review. That fall they came to Windsor when Mr. McKay be- came publisher of the Record. Mrs. McKay was especially talented as a. musician and played the first pipe organ in Woodstock. Surviving are the husband, two sons and two daughters. The sons are Kenneth D. of the Border Cit- ies Star staff. Douglas Alexander, of the Los Angeles Times, and the daughters are Mrs. Barton J. Mothersill and Mrs, L. A. McHugh of. Windsor.
