But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day _ should overtake you as a thief." I 'Thess., 5. Je read in Paul's epistle that the - -word translated "meet" Sao Refers to meeting Jesus in the air, In order to accompany Him when on 'His way to earth _ Then His immortal image we shall bear. The Lord's own words are being ful- - filled in Matthew twenty-four, For in the days that were before the flood, ie "They ate, they drank, they married, __ they spurned the way of life, 'Refused His robe of righteousness, 'and blood. © lead * 'With famines, and with pestilences, - with earthquakes, and with wars, _ We are verily told that sorrows have 'begun, : ge a For all these things must come to pass, the end shall not be yet There shall be tribulation such as was not heretofore, ilse prophets shall arise and show erent signs, omy our Blessed God and Saviour has fully warned His own How, and what to hear, in these last times. False teachers are abounding, the elect they can't deceive! 3 Their fruits do not spring forth from fertile ground, Pde They preach of "fleshly holiness," and men "not sinners born." They have not sar cae the Devil has them bound. ae They telk us of newspapers that have glaring large headlines Upon their files, to flash on the front page That our Lord He will return again at any moment now, So they call their secret rapture --- "His first stage." The Lord will not return "at any mo- ment, as they say," Prophetic Scriptures first must come to pass, The man of sin must be revealed, and other things take place, The harvest time will then have} come at last. Beware ye false professors whom - Isaiah calls -- Dumb Dogs, And change your mind before it is too late - oe Our Lord in Matthew's Gospel desig- nates professors -- "tares" Few enter by His narrow way called straight. An interesting impromptu debate on the subject uf which is the more preferable, married or single life, took place at the regular meeting of the Men's Brotherhood of On- tario Street Baptist Church on Tuesday night. The members were divided into two sides, the leaders being, G. H. Bexton for the married men and Arthur Gale for the single men. Much helpful and humorous discussion took place, with the mar- ried men emerging victorious. The chairman of the meeting was Nel- son Pequegnat. J. L. Hess brought before the Brotherhood the matter of the advisability of purchasing 4 way-side pulpit to be placed in front of the church. A cornet solo by Allan Ford and a vocal solo by Henry Clark were greatly enjoyed. Speaking of "Cuts." And talking about cuts, consider the case of Mr. Motersucheryz, He took a 62 per cent. cut in County Judge Joseph Wearing's naturali- zation court in London, Ont., yest- erday. It was only his name, how- ever. Judge Wearing pared it down to plain Moter in making him a new Canadian. Naturalization was also granted to Guy Lombardo,. Sen., father of the conductor of th2 Royal Canadians dance orchestra.
