J. Lougheed, R. R. 3, Ruthven, and brother ot E, E. Miller of this city. The bride was gowned in white satin with French lace and silk net veil. She carried a bouquet of lily of the valley and Forget-me-nots. Beulah Cowell, sister of the bride, as brides- maid, wore a powder blue georgette dress with white panama hat, and carried a bouquet of Talisman roses. The best man was Ernest. Fleming. The wedding march was played by Miss Violet-McRae. A reception was held at the home of the bride in the afternoon and evening, at which about one hundred and fifty guests were present. Out-of- town guests were present from Dunn- ville, Kitchener, Stratford, Detroit and Kingsville. Bird received ample evidence that his services in helping to bring the Musical Festival to its present high standard have been appreciated by his co-workers, when they elected him president of the Stratford Music- al Festival Association for the fourth consecutive year. Mr. Bird was elected at the regular general meeting of the Perth County Music Teachers' Federation. Miss Lot- ta White presided. The financial report showed that the -- Festival broke just about even this year, despite unsettled economic con- ditions and the fact that the usual grant from the city was not forthcom- ing this year.
