R. organizations when they were exhibited in the win- dow of the Canadian Department Stores this week? The collection was one of which any organization and any city should be proud, They were testimonials of skill and efficiency in many lines of sport, in music, First Aaid Work, and other fines of endeavor in which C. N. R. organizations take part. Visitors to the city were amazed by the collection, and residents of the city spent considerable time in front of the window. It takes a display such as that to remind the citizens of this city of the many activities which are sponsored by C. N. R. organizations in Stratford. Prominent in the display were the shields and trophies won by the C.N.R. Band and the C. N. R. Orchestra. The trophy emblematic of the Southwest- ern Cricket League also came in for admiration, as did the senior W. F. A. Trophy. The winners of the various trophies were guests of honor at the annual banquet.of the C. N. R. Recreation As- sociation in the Y. M. C. A. last night. Are you interested in the municipal elections? You Can Save Much Worry And Trouble The Christmas season is rapidly ap- proaching, and Christmas-minded citi- izens are already beginning to prepare lists of friends who are to receive cards and little presents as Christmas greetings. It may be a little early to start the "shop and mail early" slogans, but no matter how threadbare those slogans have become, there are always a great many people who will wait until the last minute to do their shopping and mailing. It's not a fair break for the chants, their clerks, nor the postal workers. It often results in disappoint- ments for the friends for whom the greetings are intended, and the sender is often caused a great deal of worry and inconvenience through his own tardiness. And so, we don't think that we are untimely in saying "shop and mail early." And another word--wrap your par- cels carefully in good stout wrapping paper. If you must have fancy wrap- pings, put them inside. Address your parcels and cards carefully, and put your return address on them. Tourist: "This seems to be a very dangerous precipice. It's a wonder they don't put up a warning sign." Native: "Yes, it is dangerous, but they kept a warning sign up for two years and no one fell over, so it was taken down."
