WILLIAM CASSON Stratford lost a citizen of 68 years' residence, when Mrs. William Casson passed away at her home, 113 Rebec- ca Street, on Monday night. She was 84 years of age, and had been in ill health only a short time. Mrs. Casson was a native of Eng- land, born in Fressingfield, Sussex, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Rope. In 1869 she came to Strat- ford, and had lived here since that time. Mrs. Casson was a member of the congregation of St. James' Church, and formerly took an active part in the work of women's organizations of that church. The Rev. F. G. Light- bourn, rector of St. James' conducted the funeral service. * * * ELIZABETH ANNE JOHNSTON Death terminated a long illness when Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Johnston died at her home, 132 Cobourg St. Mrs. Johnston was in her 91st year, and had lived in Stratford for more than half a century. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Anne Coppin, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Coppin of Bodmin, England. In 1872, she was married to John Johnston, who predeceased her. Prior to coming to Stratford, Mrs. "Johnston resided, for a shoit time, in Mitchell. For many years, she had been a member of the congregation of Ontario Street Baptist Church. * * * AUGUST SAAKEL A former well-known resident "of Mitchell and Fullarton Township died her on Thursday morning, in the per- son of August Saakel.
