McCombe was a to leave the school, the scholars, after hearing the report of their exams., pre- sented her with a Japanese tea set and a hand painted card receiver, together with a short address. During the threo years of teaching in this school she has by her winsome ways and kindly man- ner won the confidence of the pupils, who made unnusuai good progress under her splendid discipline, and not only were they taught the various subjects as prescribed by the Department, but by her honest Christian precepts were also tanght to live pure and upright lives. General regret is felt by the whole section at her departure and there .| ig also considerable dissatisfaction from the parents whose children were making good progress for allowing her to leave, for the sake of a paltry sum of money which she asked as an advance in salary which, had it been given, would not h The teacher and pupils were getting along so wel]. Had the trustees considered the feeling of the section they would have engaged her for another year. Miss McCombe was also the recipient of a handsome leather bound Bible from a friend in the section, The following was the address given by the pupils : _To Miss McCombe--Will you kindly accept this token of farewell presented by the pupils of 8.8.
