- This paper was the precursor of The Perth County Herald, and subsequently the Weekly Herald and the Daily Herald.
The County of Perth Electioneering Monitor was first published on June 2nd 1863 by Samuel Vivian. On the front of the paper the publisher was listed as Vivian & Co[mpany], Stratford. The papers tag ling was “Fear God and Honour The Queen”; the front page also boasted the paper as being “Printed for the Publishers”.
The paper only printed three or four issues before changing its name to The Perth County Herald, and expanding from a four to six column paper.
