JAMIESON; George E. - At Brantford General Hospital, Monday, July 6, 1987, George (Ted) Jamieson, aged 65 years; beloved husband of Ruby Jamieson; dear father of W.T. Jamieson and his wife, Cathy; father-in-law of Virginia Jamieson; loving grandfather of Michael and Candice Jamieson; devoted friend of John, Kathi, Christine and Thomas Sheehan; survived also by five sisters. Chief Petty Officer George Jamieson was a veteran of the Second World War and the Korean Conflict and served as a senior instructional C.P.O. in the Torpedo Anti-Submarine School at Stadacona. George started his navy career as a boy bugler and had earned four rows of ribbons from his 21 years of service. George had expressed his love for the sea as a challenge of life "something new, something hard". After retiring from the navy, George worked as a Sergeant at Burtch Correctional Facility for 15 years and the Native People Alcohol and Drug Centre for 11 years. George Jamieson, a fine man, a proud man, a good husband and father, a Chief in his own right and in the eyes of others. We'll miss you. The family will receive friends at the Styres Funeral Home, in Ohsweken from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday where the Six Nations Veteran's Association will be conducting a service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Native Veteran's Memorial Park in Ohsweken or if raining at Styres Funeral Home, Ohsweken. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery, Ohsweken. Donations to the Heart Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
