- SMITH: Wilfred L. - At the Lady Willingdon Nursing Home, Ohsweken, on Wednesday, February 3, 1982, Wilfred L. Smith of R.6 Hagersville, in his 86th year; beloved husband of Beatrice Martin; dear father of Graham Snyder, New York; Edgar, Niagara Falls, New York; Ervin, R.6 Hagersville and Mrs. Barbara Vyse, R. 2 Caledonia; brother of Norman, Florida; Dr. Dan and William, both of Hagersville; Dr. Minerva Buerk, Philadelphia; Mrs. Wilma Jamieson, R. 1 Ohsweken; Mrs. Florence Hill, R. 2 Ohsweken; Mrs. Eva Childs, Brantford; also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; predeceased by two brothers, Edgar and Oliver and one sister, Mrs. Ruby Sears. Mr. Smith was a life member of the Six Nations Agricultural Society; the Six Nations Plow-men's Association and had also served as a member of the Six Nations Band Council. Rested at the Styres Funeral Home, Ohsweken, at 2 p.m., Thursday. Funeral service was held Friday at 2:30 p.m., at St. Paul's Kanyengeh Church, Sour Springs Road. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Evening prayers was held Thursday at 8 p.m. Rev. E. Healy officiated. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to St. Paul's Kanyengeh Church, care of Mrs. Michael Hill, Ohsweken, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
