OPEN NEW BRIDGE - The $64,000 MacKenzie Creek Bridge was officially opened by members of the Six Nations Council Thursday, Construction of the bridge, which is located about a mile and a quarter south of Ohsweken on the Six Nations Reserve, began early in August. The bridge was built by Gar-Jon Construction Limited of Richmond Hill. Money for the structure came out of council funds and an 80 percent grant from the Ontario government. In the top picture, James S. Davis, chairman of the roads committee, (wearing headdress) is shown opening the bridge with members of council looking on. The bridge is shown in the bottom photo.
