OHSWEKEN - Dr. Bob Watson, president of the Cooksville Rotary Club, told members of the newly-formed Six Nations Library Board that his club will aid the Six Nations group in the establishment of a long-needed library on the reserve.
Stanley Coomper, chairmen of the special committee of the Cooksville club, presented a cheque for $950 to Mrs. Cameron Isaac, president of the new library board to assist the board with their project.
The presentation was made at a benefit banquet for the board at Ohsweken. Rev. Carl Hansen served as emcee for the program. Other speakers included Chief Richard Isaac, W.D. Rutherford, D. Cassie and Miss Ida Reddy.
Miss Darlene Howe played a musical selection and Miss Wilma Lickers gave several readings.
The library is expected to open in several months time in the former doctor's residence in Ohsweken.
