- Description
- "The Six Nations and New Credit people are again immersed in yet another crisis pertaining to our educational system. Our schools are in a deplorable state and these conditions didn't develop overnight. Progressively reduced budgeting for maintenance and operation of these schools is the reason. Now the buildings have reached the state of non-repair. The excuses for decreased funding and repair is that the three new schools promised in 1984 would be built in 1988, 1989 and 1990 respectively. But when will this be, we ask? Rationale for delays include the reprieving of capital budgets, shifting and changing Department of Indian Affairs' responsibilities, personnel changes and downsizing of the department."
