Description
"The recent television production Divided Loyalties, which dealt with the life of Joseph Brant, underlined once again the impact that this individual had in the early history of Canada and the United States. Brant was able to exert as much influence as he did, not just because of his position in the Six Nations, but because he had gained an insight into the workings of the white man's mind that few others of his race achieved. As a result, when faced with a choice of supporting either the Americans or the British, he was able to make a decision that would bring dividends for his people."
