Club of Buffalo We, here on the Re~erve 7 are interested in knowing what those away from home are do- ing and it was a pleasure to receive the supplement News-letter of the North American Indian Club of Buffalo. This club is a hive of activity. It comprises Indians from many regions living and working in the Buffalo · areao They contribute to all phases of community life - economic, social 1 educational, athletic and spiritual. Some of their activities are Tuesday night euchre club, Six Nations ladies Euchre Club, hockey - they sponsor hockey clubs for men and boyso Baseball - hard ball and soft ball leagues, which will commence in the spr i ngo Bowling - the Red Jacket League is a mixed doubles league open to Indians and their spouses. They bowl at Connecticut Lanes on Friday nights at 9:30 p,m. Lacrosse - the local entrant in the N.A.L.Ao league is the Ft. Erie Hotel Hawks in ~tlLich there are Six Nations pl ayers. They are presently preparing for the coming season. (Watch out ~farriors). The Interdenominat ional Indian Chu.rch of Buffalo, where all are we lcome, was founded by Rev. Edward S. Groat in 1960. They have purchased a building, renovated and furnished it. It is located at 316 Breckenridge Sto Buffalo 1 N.Y. They have also purchased a bus to transport members without cars to and from church and Sunday school. The Indian Club sponsors a Scholarship Fund. The North American Indian Club · of Rochester N.Y . is a lively and growing concern. From a beginning of ten members, the club has sky-rocketed to its pr esent membership of 400. There is a l::;o t he Indian Defence League of America which sponsors the yearly Border Crossing. It is a regrettable fact t hat so many of our Indian leaders are compelled to reside off the Reserve.
