The Womens Canadian Club of Toronto $400.i Winona High School $100.i Dr. Dean, Caledonia $500 .; Mr. Lloyd King, B.A. New Credit $50.i Six Nations Teachers Association $50.j and also numerous smaller cash gifts from off the Reserve. Consult last week's Tekawennake for the library hours. The Leather Classes The leather classes for adults, sponsored by the Six Nations Arts Council, were overwhelmed with enthusiastic entrants. It is impossible to accept additional entrants at the present time because of lack of space • . A report on the art class will be avail- able next week. The tremendous response i n the classes for adult education clearly manifests the need for accommodation for adu t education where work could be continued during the day as well as in the evenings. I f rental for apartments does not work out for the former barracks, what better use could the.building be put to than adult education? Double Birthday Party Mrs. Wilfred L. Smith, Sour Springs, and grandson Scott, Buffalo, N.Y. were hon- oured guests at a double birthday festive dinner last Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. W. L. Smith. After the dinner, all joined in a song-fest with r.frs. Whittaker at the piano. Later on in the evening, some of the party dispersed to attend the Drama Club plays at Ohsweken and others remained t o visit. It was an evening of enjoyment for all. St. Andrews A9 C,W, The February meeting of t1e St. Andrews A.C.l;i. was held on Thursday, Feb. 20th. at the home of Mrs. Jess Moses . · Roll call was answered by singing a verse of a favourite hymn. Following the devotional, plans were made for visiting the nursing home. After the business part of the meeting was over the hostess served lunch. Ohsweken Baptist Church _ On Sunday, Feb. 23 7 1969, Mrs. C.R. Elsie of Vancouver, B.C., who is the presi- dent of the Baptist Union of 1-Jestern Canada, was the guest speaker at Ohsweken Baptist Church. Accompanying Mrs. Elsie was Mrs. Shanks of Manitoba, President of the Baptist Women of Western Canada. Brantford youth killed \ \ A Brantford youth was killed last Sunday night in a collision on the Brant-Nor- folk County line, about eight miles south of Brantford. Gene Arland LaForme, 18, of Nelson Street driver of the car, was dead on arrival at the Brantford General Hospital. A passenger, Donald-Grant Carpenter, 17, of Ohsweken remains in the BGH in poor condition with chest and back injuries. \ Brantford OPP said LaForme's car smashed into an abutment on a bridge about l½ miles west of Little Buffalo at about 5 p.m. \ \ Gene previously resided at New Credit. Mr. & Mrs. LaForme(Carpenter) and a two months old child moved recently to Brantford for Gene to take the Manpower training scheme which he had entered a month ago. Deepest ·sympathy is extended to his family and relatives on the sudden passing of Gene~ Landscape Class The Six Nations Arts Coun~ il is sponsoring a clas·s "Landscaping for home grounds" under. the direct ion of r,fr. Hu IkCracken of Brantford. Mr . McCracken is a graduate of the Niagara School of Horticul ure.
