4 New Credit News Community Picnic The Community Picnic was a great success on July 30. About one thousand per- sons from tho town of Ihssissauga and Six Nat ions were hosted by the New Credit Reserve. Mayor Spock from Ihssissauga and Mr. licGillap from the Regional Indian Affairs office were among the guests present. Tho How Credit Council presented visiting officials with moccasins and other Indian artifo.cts. The town of Ihssissauga presented the New Credit Council House wi th flags and each of the councillors with Bibles . Bart Lo.Forme 2.ctcd a.s II. C. and Fred King offici a.tcd at tho presentations. 1hnners of tho Draw included: First Prize - 20 lb. ham was won by l'Io..rk 12.Formo Second Prize - 25 lbs. flour wo.s won by M. Matthiesen (Mississauga) 2 Bci.skets chock- full of grocorios and g00dios (contributed by Dominion Stores) wore won by visitors fr om tmm of Ihss issauga. Golden '.-/cdding Anni versc..ry Tho Ohsweken Community Hall was the setting for a mos t enjoyable Golden Hedding dinner and dance on Saturday evening, when tho children of Mr. & I1rs. Sylvester 11 Pat" LaForme entertained in honour of their parents. For the youngish appear i ng couple it seemed more like o. 10th or 20th anniversary rather. than a 50th. Honoured guests were escorted to the head table by Ur. Cam I'fonture . Ifol Rowe carried off the duties of II. C. with his usual aplomb. The anniversary dinner bogo.n with table grace invoked by Rev. G. S. Shantz. Then all pitched in and enjoyed the bounteous wedding repast. The toast to the bride of 50 years was proposed by Ifrs. Ross Rusling, Boston, responded to by I.frs . LaFormc. I1r . Frank r1ontour, a life- l ong friend, proposed the toast to Mr. LaForme who responded. Terry LaForme, a grandson, proposed a toast to Mr. & Ilrs. LaForme, on behalf of the grandchildren. Hr. '.fard Lo.Formo, a son of the honoured couple, introduced the members of the immediate family at the head table. Rev. Paul Nigh, an old friend of all tho Now Credit people, brought greet i ngs and road telegrams of congratulations from Prime Ihnister Trudeau of Co.nada i Premi er Robo.rts of Ontario and the Department of Indian Affairs , Ottawa.
