To the Editor: Our minor hockey on the Six Nations Reserve has been in operation since 1965. We have yet to be complimented for the hard work of our executive, coaches , and man- agers of all our hockey teams. :Co we have to leave the Six Nations Reserve and lure- all the hockey players away to gain recognition? We appeal for coaches every year to help with our many teams to relieve the pressure off our coaches that have two teams to look after. We regret to read in our Indian newspaper about coaches and players having to participate in hockey off the Six Nations Reserve. S.N.M.H.L. We certainly agree that there •s too little recognition and assistance given those who are bearing the brunt of the responsibility for minor hockey on the Reserveo For one to rush in the morning with a load of youngsters to a game in Hagersvi~le ditto to another game in the p.mo in T,Jaterford, another in the evening in Ayr and back home in time for supper at 11:30 p.m. and ready to travel to work at 5 a.m. the next day is an impossible schedule,, There is a la.ck of sufficient leadership. Surely with the Y.M. classes some leaders are being developed along those lines. :rJhere are the fellows who were given an athletic leadership course in Ohsweken several years ago? It was understood they were in turn expected to give leadership to others. Perhaps they haven•t been encouraged to do soo At any rate, the present executive is doing a super job under impossible conditions. Ed. This tournament attracted teams from five centres other than the Six Nations Reserve. These centres were Ayr, Norwich, Elmvale, Elora and Plattsville. When a team is a_efeated in the:'.r first game? they are eligible to go on and play for the consolation championship, If they win every game, they play for the championship.
