How a walka-t:1on wo~ks: The distance of the walk is decided it may be around the b_lo_ck, from one end ~f the reserve to the other or to Hamilton and back. Each walker is sponsored by as m2,ny sponsors as possible who promise to pay him a certain amount for each mile the , 1 -~~ r:ompletes. It may be lO;c per mile, 250 per mile, $1 or $5 per mile - just what- ever the sponsor feels he can afford. When the walk is com_pleted, you pay up. Watch is kept at tl;J.e starting point and at the finishing point. There will also be look- outs in cars, along the cours, for any little heroes who fall by the wayside. This is a real opportunity for residents interested in the minors to assist '-'-·~- encourage them. The novices defeated Ayr 5-0, the. peewees beat Ayr 3- 0 and the bantams downed St. George 6--4. Goalie _Mike Montour registered the shutout for the novices. Kim Smith and How""1' ard Bomberry scored two goals &ach and Darryl Hill got the .other one. Pete Powless, Bri;:,,n liartin ancl Robert Powless scored for the peewees. Gary Porter was in goal.
