I ndian Motif Fashionable Leather outfits with an I ndian motif are the "in" fashion today. So search out your Indian costume, spruce it up, put it on and you' ll be in t he height of fashion. Real Plourde, opErator of an Indian craft shop in Ottawa, employs five Ottawa women in his sewing of leather projects. One of his creations was a completely re versible jacket with suede on one side and smooth leather on the other. Made from one hide, it required some interesting detailed work and hand sewing. Mr. Plourde, who is married to an Indian, would like to see Indians on reserves involved in this type of work. He was a former instructor of Indians in the Kenora, Ontario area. Mr. Plourde says Indians should be allowed to cash in on the fact that their culture is becoming a hit with some segments of the population. Currently, he is running three weeks behind on clothi ng orders placed through his shop. 11 In Europe there is a tremendous fad on Indian styles and fashions, but I'm also concerned with the development of Indian industry, and not merely knick knack sales," Mr. Plourde said. · Grand River United Church ~ 'lu.3,l Meeting The annual meeting of the Grand River United Church was held on Sunday afternoon following the.church service.
