3 Six Nations Council Meetine; ( continued) That this Council accept t he recommendation of the Six Nations Recreation Commiss~ · ion that Cecil Davis and Bill Montour be named to the Six Nations Recreation Commission to serve as members for a term of three years to replace John R. Burnham and Alex Ross Powless whose terms have expired. Carried. That this Council authorize payment for the fire hydrants to the Six Nations Water Commission. Carried. That this Council issue a Certificate of Merit to Clarence Jamieson at the next council meeting for services r endered in sports on the Six Nations Indian Reserve. - Carried. That this Council accept t he offer of Harold W, Nethaway of Johnstown, New York , of a photograph of Johnson Hall depicting an Indian Council of Circa 177G done by E. L. Henry in 1904 and upon receipt of this photograph that it be hung in some prominent place. Carried. That since this Council ha s not received any comments on the fire works by-law that was sent to the merchants on t he Reserve , that this Council advise the merchants that this by-law will be passed at the next Council meeting and that the merchants be advis- ed to govern themselves accordingly. Carried. There were the usual number of transfers of property and hydro applications approved. For lack of space, we print only the resolutions of interest to the Reserve as a whole. Credit Union Annual Meeting The Fifteenth Annual Meeting of the Six Nations ( Ohsweken) Credit Union Ltd. will· \ be held on Thursday, March 20, 1969 , at 8:00 p.m. in the Dining Hall , Six Nations Fair~, \ grounds. \\,. Annual reports will be presented followed by the election of officers and commit- teeso Progressive euchre will be played and coffee and doughnuts served to complete the evening. Betty Porter, Secretary· On Min's Handicraft Shop Ohe of industrious self-employed women of the Six Nations Reserve is Min Jamieson of Min's Handicraft Shop in Ohsweken. March 13th.edition of the Brantford Expositor carried a comprehensive article, with photo, on her shop which contains all authentic Indian Handicraft. Mrs. Jamieson makes a great deal of the handicraft herself and buys , and retails for other Reserve handicrafters, such articles as wooden masks, canes, Indian\ dolls etc. Her shop is a tourists ' paradise with the fine variety of Indian Handicraft artistically arranged on walls and counters. Although her shop opened only 4 years ago, Mrs. Jamieson has found it necessary to have an addition built and declares "I still need another addition for storage. " Although leading a busy life with her shop, Min still finds time to engage in community work. Leather Jacket Class cancelled this week N.B. There will be no Leather ~acket Class on Thursday March 20th. The classes will resume on Monday the 24th.and Thursday the 27th. as usual. The glove making· class will be held as usual this week (20tho) The art class will continue also on the 23rd. and the Landscaping Class on the 24th. which may conclude that course if the required series is covered. Recreation Leaders On Friday March 7th. leaders of the Friday evening Y swimming class and the Satur~ day morning recreation sessions attended an induction ceremony for leaders at the YW- \ YMCA in Brantfordo Eight leaders,plus three more who were absent, received their lead- ership crestso The leaders are Linda Martin, Sandy Hill, Terry Porter, Carol MtPleasant,-.. Jean King, Debbie Staats, Steve Isaac , Dan Cayuga, Gary Cayuga, Dan Jamieson and George VanEvery. Next Saturday will conclude the recreation sessions at New Central School.
