Natives call for probe into Ipperwash death
A"total lack of understanding of native issues" and the "get touch" attitude of Premier Mike Harris' Tory government contributed to the shootings at Ipperwash Provincial Park, says a Six Nations band council statement released Friday.

Chief Coun. Steve Williams has joined native leaders across Canada in demanding a probe of the Ipperwash clash that killed on native protester, and injured two others.

Anthony (Dudley) George, 38, was killed and two native demonstrators were hurt when Ontario provincial police fired during a sudden skirmish late Wednesday. Each side blames the other for the incident.
