- Deal reached at Ipperwash
Aboriginal leaders have reached an agreement with the federal government that Indian Affairs Minister Ron Irwin says may help end a deadly standoff at Ipperwash Provincial Park.
Irwin said Wednesday night he has agreed to a process to return an adjacent military camp to the Kettle and Stony Point Indian band.
And he has asked the Ontario government to review newly uncovered documents that seem to support the band's claim the provincial park is on a sacred aboriginal burial ground.
