- Description
- "The Sioux nation once spread over most of the northern and central plains. The tournament program listed no more than seven groups of Sioux. They were Oglala Sioux, Yankton Sioux, Sicangu Sioux, Bird Sioux, Hankpapa Lakota (Sioux), Dakota Plains (Sioux), and Rosebud Sioux. People of Sioux heritage also had the most interesting names. There was a Sioux girl on a team from northern California whose name was Sherita In the Woods. Sidney and Delane Has No Horses played for Pine Ridge, South Dakota men's team."
