Support is growing to have Canada Post issue a special stamp honoring Her Majesty's Chapel of the Mohawks.
City council's committee of the whole recommended Monday night that the city send a resolution to Canada Post supporting the idea.
Margaret Lang, of Brantford, a volunteer on the Mohawk Chapel restoration committee, asked for the support of city and county councils in a recent letter.
Rt. Rev. Derwyn D. Jones, Bishop of Huron, Brantford MPP Phil Gillies, and Brant MP Derek Blackburn already have supported the idea.
Miss Lang also has asked the city to consider using special traffic signs to tourists can find various points of interest such as the chapel, Glenhyrst and the Brant County Museum.
Ald. Mary Welsh said a comprehensive study regarding tourist signs is being reviewed by the Brantford Regional Chamber of Commerce's visitor and convention bureau.
The committee recommended referring the matter to the city engineer's department and the chamber.
