- Reeve Decries Sale of Land
Allowing Six Nations to purchase land in Onondaga is "reverse discrimination," says Mabel Dougherty, the township's reeve.
Onondaga cannot buy native land and take it from their land base so Six Nations shouldn't be able to buy Onondaga's and not pay taxes, she said.
Last week, Six Nations purchased a 175-acre block of the Dyjach farm on Old Onondaga Road. It is the second land purchase in a year.
