- Six Nations photographer has work displayed in gallery
The Jane Corkin Gallery in Toronto has an exhibition of work by Six Nations photographer Greg Staats.
It features about 30 black and white prints from his careerr.
"The show has had a great response so far," said gallery director Patti Cooke.
"It has been a really great opening."
The exhibition continues until the end of August.
Ms. Cooke said the Mohawk man is one of about 20 artists who will have a solo exhibition at the gallery this year.
Mr. Staats' prints, which sell for $450 each, deal with a range of themes.
Some of the older photographs were taken at a Six Nations powwow and capture the enthusiasm and spirit of participants.
More recent work deals largely with nature and objects, conveying a more spiritual message, said Ms. Cooke.
Several photographs of Pueblo Indians, taken during a recent trip to New Mexico, also are exhibited.
