Arrows celebrate with fans second straight Minto Cup By Neil Becker, Sports Writer Those final few seconds couldn't tick away fast enough for the super excited Six Nations Arrows and their vocal loyal fans who celebrated history in the making with their second straight Minto Cup victory and first one on Six Nations territory. "It's just a surreal feeling. Really hard to believe," an elated Arrows goalie Doug Jamieson said moments after what was a Minto Cup series clinching 9-4 Game 6 win against the same opponent they beat last year in Coquitlam Adanacs. "For the whole series the crowd support was awesome. They are the best fans." Also singing strong praises for the diehard Six Nations Arrows fans was Arrows captain Brendan Bomberry who had a goal and three points in the clinching victory. "This one (Minto Cup) takes the cake because we were playing in front of our fans at home," Bomberry who scored nine goals and 17 points in Minto Cup action and was named MVP said, "We've all played this 1,000 times in our backyard or at least I definitely did and to win it is unbelievable. The crowd really motivated us and they are awesome and really helped us out." Six Nations who also needed six games a year ago in winning their first Minto Cup since 2007 didn't panic this year after dropping the series opener by a 9-7 score. "That first game was like a feeling out process," Bomberry said. "We were able to contain them after that and beat them." Rebounding in dramatic form the Arrows' Ryan lee found himself playing role of hero as he scored the eventual overtime winner in a 9-8 contest which now made it a best of five series. "The crowd really motivated us and they are the best fans," Bomberry said of what was a come from behind win. (Continued on page 15)
