Celebrating their fourth straight Founders Cup victory "Chase has done a heck of a job," Bomberry said. "He's always so upbeat and brings positive energy." "This (awards luncheon) was kind of a last minute thing. Now we can concentrate on this upcoming season." The Rebels who this off-season tragically lost assistant coach Ben Powless have lots of young developing talent including offensive dynamo Layne Smith who finished second in team scoring with 33 goals and 79 points which earned him the Blair Martin Memorial Trophy for Rookie of the Year. "It's very exciting. I had no idea," Smith said about winning Rookie of the Year honors. "It's a great organization and it (winning his first Founders Cup) was an unbelievable experience. Everyone will be gunning for us this season but we're going to work harder." There is no question that Smith made a strong impression on the Rebels management team. "Layne came in and really left his mark," Bomberry said. "He really wanted to be part of this club and he had a strong offensive year."
