Mrs. Ellis Smith (Elizabeth Caldwell R.N.) and daughter Gail, Mr. John McRae, all of Ft. William, Ont. and Mrs. Hazel Haggis of St. Catharines were weekend guests of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence C. Hill, R. R. 1 Ohsweken. Mrs. Gordon Longboat has left for Detroit, Mich. where she will visit her son, Mr. Jerry Longboat and family. Jerry was recently promoted to installation supervisor of Michigan Bell Telephone. Mrs. O.M. Smith and Mrs. Mabel Smith have returned to Sour Springs after a fortnight's visit with Mr. & Mrs. George Smith in Long Beach, California. They traveled by plane. Mr. & Mrs. Beverly Davis & son, Buffalo, N.Y. visited at their Sour Springs home last weekend. Mr. & Mrs. Al Smith, Buffalo, N.Y. were the weekend guests of Mr. & Mrs. Oliver Smith. Mr. & Mrs. David McKenzie (nee Carol Lewis) and daughter Margie, Toronto, were visitors at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Jamieson on Sunday. Carol was a member of the Pauline Johnson Pilgrimage to Vancouver in 1961. Mr. Wilfred L. Smith spent the weekend at his home, Sour Springs. Mr. & Mrs. Walter White formerly of Niagara Falls, N.Y. have now returned and taken up residence on the Reserve. Mrs. John Baptiste, Deleware, has been ill in Lady Willingdon Hospital for the past week. Miss Julia L. Jamieson, R.R. 1 Ohsweken, was taken suddenly ill and removed to the Brantford General Hospital. A speedy recovery for both these grand ladies is the wish of Tekawennake. Mr. George Peters and son, Buffalo, N.Y. were weekend guests of Mr. & Mrs. Nathan Montour, Delaware. Miss Lynn Jamieson, R.R. 1 Ohsweken, has completed a secretarial course at Fanshawe College, London, and is now employed in a London legal office. Mr. Ross Powless, Sour Springs Rd., has begun construction of a new ranch house. Mr. Clarence C. Hill, R.R. l Ohsweken, has completed the structure of a large galvanized steel barn, replacing the building recently destroyed by fire. Mr. Harvey Powless is in the process of erecting a barn. Mr. Ronald Curley, son of Clifford Curley, is erecting a new house on 4th line. Miss Carol A. Martin, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Joe Martin, Waterford, Ont. formerly of the Six Nations reserve, was graduated from Hamilton Teacher's College. A graduate of Waterford District High School, Miss Martin has accepted a position with the township school area of Townsend. Coming Events in Six Nations June 6 - Thursday, 8 p.m. Niagara Region Development council meeting in the Onondaga Township Hall. All those interested in a bridge or ferry at Chiefswood are requested to attend this meeting, the last until next fall. June 6 - Six Nations Council meeting. June 7 - Friday, 8:30 p.m. Lacrosse at the Brantford Civic Centre. Warriors vs Orangeville. June 8 - Saturday 8 p.m. Amateur Show at the new Central School gym. Sponsored by the Six Nations girls for their trip to New York and United Nations. June 9 - Sunday, afternoon and evening, practice for the pageant.
