Funding sources available through "BIG" database
For anyone who has ever had a really great idea but lacked the sponsors to make it live, Vancouver-based software development company Metasoft Systems Inc. has a new business information guide that is guaranteed to unite the two. Metasoft offers the BIG Database Software Program and the Internet version, BIG OnLine, as access routes to funding information for non-profit and charitable organizations seeking financial assistance.
Contracts from the database have assisted groups, which include, Aboriginal bands, community organizations, schools, businesses, economic development officers and artists. BIG has helped them find the funding to · bring their projects to life. Effective last summer, BIG went on-line, delivering current information on almost 5,000 funding sources in both Canada and the United States.
Working within BIG's user friendly system is easy. It takes only minutes to find qualified sources of funding; eliminating what is generally a time consuming task, as the system tracks down the grant information and contacts for you. BIG is well organized, its website features a resource centre, links section and a newsroom so staying up to date is simple.
In fact, with Internet access, bi-weekly updates are right at your fingertips. There is also a lot of useful information to help clients' search for funds and detailed instructions on how to write a successful proposal.
The BIG Database is really much more than a database. It includes a comprehensive step-by-step $Uide that walks you through how to locate, search, and apply for sponsors and funding. It also comes with four examples of successful proposals that can be adapted to suit the needs of the client. It really doesn't matter if your not a computer wizard because BIG's unique searchable system has done the work for you. It's as straight forward as clicking your mouse wherever you want to go. "It's very user friendly. You get right to the source, so you know exactly what is available for a specific type of project in your geographical area," remarked Marlene Horvath, at Metasoft.
BIG promises to help clients find new sources of funding by . providing corporate and foundation profiles, government sources, contact information, sample proposals, and weekly news updates. Metasoft stands . behind this promise and BIG with a money-back guarantee. confidently stating,
"We will refund your license fee for the BIG Database if, after applying to any three .prospective funders listed you are unsuccessful in obtaining funding approval after six months from the date of your purchase."
Metasoft has changed and adapted BIG over the past couple of years to best meet the needs of its clients. "In the very beginning the database was in a book form. Then Metasoft changed it to a software product about three and half years ago. They have been researching and adding on to it ever since," explained Horvath. The BIG Database now includes over 1,000. federal and provincial government programs, 1,600 Canadian foundations that fund non-profit organizations, 640 Canadian corporations and 1,201 foundations and corporations in the United States. In addition, an added feature is included that will inform you as to what programs are due each month. Metasoft has several licenses available for clients to choose from.
