Smith: Sara

A Dancing Star has danced her last dance upon Mother Earth and now dances her way to the Sky World. Sara Smith, born 1940, loving wife of Roger Smith of 56 years embarks on a new journey. Incredible mother of Rock (Caron), Kim, (Ginny) Con (Joanne) and Karen. She was a treasured Gran to Jamie, Tia, Stacy, Sidney, Chrissy, Jenny, Holly, Kai, Kati, Bailey and Quinn. Now she embraces her cherished grandson, Roger Lee in spirit. A doting great Gran to Madisyn, Kimaura, Kohen, Madex, Rilynn, Romyn, Ryersyn, Sylken, Logan, Cecil, Lena, Ryan, Damon, Jeffrey, Kamden Cruise, and Locklan. Dear sister to David Smith, Diane Robertson, Steve Smith and now greets her brothers in spirit, Brock and Morris. She also reunites with her parents, Oliver and Elda(Bun) Smith. Sara had quite the creative flair for crafts, and was a renowned potter. Her earlier years were spent within the school system teaching crafts and story telling. She had a tender heart for the many children she taught. She managed the Special Services for Special People Gift shop, truly treasuring and honouring the folks there. Though not recognized she did have a hand in the establishment of the Six Nations Minor Hockey system as well. It was her greatest passion to speak about the Great White Roots of Peace, Colours, and the Dreamtime. She did much travelling about Mother Earth to share this knowledge. She established the Roots for Peace Centre, the Pine and Cedar circles and had people from all walks of life visit these spiritual meeting spaces. Her family honoured her with a very private visitation as this was her wish. We say to this radiant Dancing Star, “Ó:nen ki' wáhi - until we meet again.” Donations may be made to the Iroquois Lodge in her honour. www.rhbanderson.com
