Francis Ballantyne (1805 - 1874) is my great great grandfather who came to the Smiths Falls area in 1840 from the Roxborough area of Scotland. His property was at 907 Kitley First Line Rd. The house shown in the photograph is still there. There are other photographs of his farm (the barns that burned in 1919 and the blacksmiths shop with Elliott Ballantyne in front [his youngest son].
