While living in England, Edward's profession is listed as a slate quarrier. When he came to Canada, he became a farm labourer. Edward died May 3, 1916. Their descendants are another story. Ron and Betty lived the first eight years of marriage on John Street in Stirling. They then took the plunge in 1963 and purchased property about a mile east of Stirling on the Ridge Road. Here they lived for al most 40 years. They had six children 1. Marilyn Eileen arrived 13 months later on July 10, 1957. She married Kenneth Douglas Milligan on June 19, 1982, and they have two sons, Kelly Gordon Roy (born August 31, 1985) and Joseph David Fred erick (bom September 6, 1988). 3. Sandra May was bom on May 8, 1959. She mar ried Gerald Wright on June 19, 1982 (That's right, the same day as Ken and Marilyn; it was a double wed ding ceremony at St. Paul's United Church and only the second double wedding that church's history.) They have a son Kevin William (born April 26, 1985) and a daughter, Michelle Joyce (bom November 5, 1989). 4. Brenda Joan was bom on September 9, 1961. She married Louis Westfall on September 19, 1984. 5. Ross Murray was bom on November 9, 1965. It was a day that would go down in history for momen tous events. It was the night of the East Coast black out. To this day his siblings think that his entry into this world may have caused the blackout. He is a very special man to all his sisters. He married Sylvie Marie Renee Huot on August 13, 1988. They have two sons, Mitchell David Paul (bom on December 1, 1990) and Daniel Robert Sidney (bom July 28, 1994). 6. Growing up on the Ridge Road meant that we at tended SS #1 School and SS #4 School (one-room schools) until around 1968-1969. Then we were bussed to Stirling for our elementary schooling. We were all bussed to Centennial High School in Bel leville. We learned to swim in the Rawdon Creek. We attended the local 4-FI Club at River Valley and learned to bowl at the Stirling Bowling Alley. We would walk to Stirling at least once a week in the summertime to exchange books at the local library or bike up to Oak Lake for a dip. We biked all over the countryside with our friends. We learned to skate on the back ponds and it was magical to go tobogganing on nights of the full moon. The Stirling area was a great place to grow up in. But times change and we move on. Ron and Betty have moved back into Stirling. Only two of their chil dren live in the area, Maureen and Brenda. Sandra resides in Marysville. Marilyn is in Toronto, and Gail and Ross are living in Brampton. Even though we have moved many miles away, the Stirling area is still very precious to all of us who grew up there. We have good memories of our family and growing up in Stirling to tell the next generation. BRUCE AND GAIL WOODBECK Auto Wreckers).
