She enjoys being able to have her freedom and the beau- tiflil view from her own home. It just doesn't seem possible that Thijs has been gone since November 19,1977. Yvonne Machold, the oldest daughter divorced and sold their family home and moved to her Belleville home at 69 Bogart Crescent and still lives there. September 1991, Yvonne met a very good man, Gerald Anthony de Genova; we were a couple till October 8, 2004. Gerald suddenly had a massive heart attack and died. It was a day she will remember always, as it was on her birthday. Spring 2005, Yvonne started helping with the 150th Stirling History Book, as she had previously helped on the 125th book. Quite a difference--no cutting and pasting. Aren't computers wonderful! She still has a full-time job, as she is too young to be retired. Her oldest son, Michael Machold, when he turned 16, joined the army. He had a stay in Germany, and when he came back to New Brunswick, he got out. He met Melody Wishart and on May 11, 1997, they had a son named Noah. Mel had a son Evan from a previous marriage. They still live in Fredericton, New Brunswick, 12 long hours away! Yvonne's youngest son, Eric Machold, stayed at home till 2002 and is now working in Peterborough. He keeps in touch with his mom frequently. Janny, the younger daughter had two children from her first marriage to Gerard Kloosterman. She is now retired from Belleville City Hall. She remarried to Jim Dickens and they live in Belleville. Janny's daughter Kristen, graduated from Wilfrid Laurier and has a masters in education, as well as a degree in Human Resources. She is married to Doug Brown and they live north of Toronto. They have son Nathan, five, and a set of twins, Amanda and Ty­ ler, two years old. Janny's son, Sean, graduated from Ryerson as Aero Space Engineer and has his own company and works from Ontario Power Generating. He has a nine- year-old daughter, Hanna. He also lives in Toronto. Both children travelled extensively.
