- ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY:
Update! is the award-winning newsletter published by St. Jerome's University for its graduates, faculty, staff and friends. First published in 1981, it was initially issued quarterly but the frequency of publication varied over the years; from Spring/Summer 1996 to Spring, 2014, it was issued twice a year. Beginning in 2015, Update is now published once a year.
Update! provides information on St Jerome's personnel (additions, appointments, honors, awards, promotions and publications); student, staff, faculty and graduate profiles; upcoming and past events; new courses, programmes and lectures; convocations; retirements and in memoriams; interviews and editorials.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS:
This series includes copies of Update!, a file of resource material used in some of the articles which appeared in Update!, and a Readership Survey conducted during 1988-1989 to assess the quality and effectiveness of the newsletter.
Also included is a file of St. Jerome's College Newsletters from October, 1966 to March, 1968. This newsletter was published in-house as a means of communicating information about the College and its activities to the student body as well as to faculty and staff.

St. Jerome's University is located in Waterloo, Ontario, and is situated in the University of Waterloo. It was founded as St. Jerome's College in 1865 by the Congregation of the Resurrection. In 1959, it was granted university status and changed its name to the University of St. Jerome's College. It has been federated with the University of Waterloo since 1960. In 1998, the name was officially changed to St. Jerome's University.
