- ADMINISTRATIVE RECORDS:
The Mission Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Governors of St. Jerome's University. Its mandate is to review and oversee the continuing fulfillment of the Mission Statement of St. Jerome's and to participate in planning for the future with regard to such issues as policy and personnel. Current membership of the committee is comprised of the Chancellor, the President and the Academic Dean of St. Jerome's University, the Bishop or his delegate, the Provincial Superior of the Congregation of the Resurrection, the Chair of the Board of Governors, the President of St. Jerome's Student Union, and a minimum of two additional Board members. Membership on the committee is for a minimum two year term.
The committee is required to meet as often as necessary to carry out its assigned responsibilities, but not less than once in each of the fall and winter terms; the committee is also required to report to the Board of Governors as often as necessary, but not less than once a year. The Chair of the committee is selected from within its membership at the beginning of each academic year. The Chair of the Mission Committee is also a member of the Executive Committee.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS:
This sub-series is comprised of agendas, minutes and supporting documents for the meetings held by the Mission Committee. In 2017 a committee was struck to develop a social justice statement for St. Jerome's University. Also included is correspondence and documents for this committee.

St. Jerome's University is located in Waterloo, Ontario, and is situated in the University of Waterloo. It was founded as St. Jerome's College in 1865 by the Congregation of the Resurrection. In 1959, it was granted university status and changed its name to the University of St. Jerome's College. It has been federated with the University of Waterloo since 1960. In 1998, the name was officially changed to St. Jerome's University.
