ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY

An academic department within St. Jerome's University, the Mathematics Department was responsible for teaching courses in Algebra, Calculus, Computer Science, and Combinatorics and Optimization, many of which are core courses required of students enrolled in Mathematics. St. Jerome's co-operated and co-ordinated the Mathematics curriculum with the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. St. Jerome's had academic responsibility for all mathematics students enrolled through St. Jerome's, the department received its budget through St. Jerome's, and hired its faculty independently of the University of Waterloo. The chairperson of the department was chosen by the mathematics faculty at St. Jerome's.

Early in 2014 St. Jerome's University and the University of Waterloo agreed to consolidate the discipline of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo.
