- ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY
The Legal Studies Committee was formed in 1980 to organize, administer, and publicize the Legal Studies option program which began in 1981. The Committee was comprised of 7 faculty members from the departments involved in the program. The initial committee was chaired, and the program directed by, Prof. Michael McDonald of the Philosophy Department at the University of Waterloo. Prof. James Wahl from St. Jerome's was a member of this committee and later became the Academic Advisor for the program.
The Legal Studies option program was administered by this committee until 2004 when it became Legal Studies and Criminology. It now offers both the option program and a degree program. Legal Studies and Criminology, a University of Waterloo program, is currently housed and administered by St. Jerome's University.
