When the President's Council expanded and was reconstituted in 1971 as College Council the Budget
Committee was formed as a standing committee of the Council to assist the Board of Governors in preparing the College Budget. Membership varied over the years. In 1982 membership was comprised of the Treasurer, Academic Dean, one member of the Academic Committee appointed by the Academic Committee, one staff member, and one student member of College Council appointed by the Steering Committee.
In January, 1984 the Budget Committee was renamed and reconstituted as the Financial Advisory Committee.

St. Jerome's University is located in Waterloo, Ontario, and is situated in the University of Waterloo. It was founded as St. Jerome's College in 1865 by the Congregation of the Resurrection. In 1959, it was granted university status and changed its name to the University of St. Jerome's College. It has been federated with the University of Waterloo since 1960. In 1998, the name was officially changed to St. Jerome's University.
