- ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY:
The Board of Governors of St. Jerome's University makes use of three levels of committees: 1) Committee of the Whole; 2) Standing Committees; 3) Ad hoc Committees.
The Committee of the Whole consists of all members of the Board. There are four standing committees each of which is made up of a minimum of three members of the Board. Each committee is to meet as often as necessry to carry out its assigned responsibilities but not less than once in each of the fall and winter terms. Each committee is required to report to the Board as often as necessary but not less than once a year. The four standing committees of the Board are the Executive Committee, the Finance Committee, the Human Relations Committee, and the Mission Committee. Ad hoc committes are struck and mandated as required.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS:
This series of records for the standing and ad hoc committees of the Board of Governors of St. Jerome's University include agendas and minutes of meetings, correspondence, reports, and other supporting documents related to their responsibilities and mandates.
The series is arranged in 12 subseries:
1) Executive Committee records;
2) Finance Committee records;
3) Mission Committee;
4) Human Relations Committee;
5) President's Search Committee;
6) Structures and Functions Committee;
7) Audit Committee;
8) Development Committee;
9) Committee on Governance;
10) Orientation Committee;
11) Building Committee.
12) Honorary Degrees Nominating Committee.
The records are arranged in chronological order.

St. Jerome's University is located in Waterloo, Ontario, and is situated in the University of Waterloo. It was founded as St. Jerome's College in 1865 by the Congregation of the Resurrection. In 1959, it was granted university status and changed its name to the University of St. Jerome's College. It has been federated with the University of Waterloo since 1960. In 1998, the name was officially changed to St. Jerome's University.
