Update! University of St. Jerome's College Volume 2 Number 2 September 1982 UW Celebrates 25 years...Open House Planned This year marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the University of Waterloo. The university opened its doors in 1957, and it has grown enormously, gaining an international reputation for excellence and innovation since then. St. Jerome's College, which entered into federation with UW in 1960, has grown too, and is proud of its long association with the University. To help celebrate the big birthday on October 22-24 (called "Meet Your Waterloo"), the College is planning a number of special events. The St. Jerome's contribution to the four-day UW celebration will include a share of the fall convocation activities, a series of special lectures by College faculty, a photo-display of College life, a display of the College's permanent art collection, tours of the new facilities (including the 300-seat Siegfried Hall), an audio-visual display, a major documentary photographic exhibition of UW's first 25 years with approximately 500 photographs, an alumni luncheon with special music, and a special Cafe Italiano sponsored by the Italian department. The weekend will conclude with a special liturgy on Sunday morning. Bishop Paul Reding will be principal celebrant and homilist. Plan now to attend the 25th Anniversary events at the College. From art displays to audio-visual shows, from lectures to luncheons, it's going to be a great weekend. And there will be free parking for alumni and friends. Check the schedule for more details.
