This issue includes profiles on Chancellor John Sweeney who had recently died, on a proposed graduate-level program in the Roman Catholic tradition, on the first St. Jerome's Feast for Catholic University Education, part of the feast day of St. Jerome celebrations, on four new faces at St. Jerome's: Carol Acton, Maureen Drysdale, Danine Farquharson, and Sue Brubacher, on Richard Gwyn who delivered the inaugural Somerville Lecture in Christianity and Communications in October, on graduates and their children who are now enrolled at St. Jerome's, on graduate Joan Grundy this year's winner of the Father Norm Choate Distinguished Graduate Award, an article by Harry Froklage on Sr. Celeste Reinhart who was Dean of Women at St. Jerome's, items on award-winning graduates: Ayli Lapkoff who was awarded the Alumni Association Gold Medal for the highest standing in Arts and Lauralee Haas who was awarded the Governor-General's Gold Medal for the highest standing in all undergraduate programs, on the grad event: A Midsummer Night's Ceili, on upcoming events sponsored by the Centre for Catholic Experience, upcoming grad events, a notice about the spring 2002 publication of "Enthusiasm for the Truth", a comprehensive history of St. Jerome's by faculty members Fr. St. Jerome's University is located in Waterloo, Ontario, and is situated in the University of Waterloo. It was founded as St. Jerome's College in 1865 by the Congregation of the Resurrection. In 1959, it was granted university status and changed its name to the University of St. Jerome's College. It has been federated with the University of Waterloo since 1960. In 1998, the name was officially changed to St. Jerome's University.
